Free, no sign-up. Up to 25 keywords a day.

How this Google rank checker works

  1. Enter your domain, the keywords you want to check and, if you like, three competitors.
  2. Pick the country. Each keyword runs as a live Google search from there, in that country’s main language, on desktop and without the personalization that changes the results when you search yourself.
  3. The checker reads the top 20 organic results of each search and finds your domain and your competitors’ among them.

What the results show

  • Your position for each keyword, from 1 to 20, or a clear “not in top 20” when Google doesn’t show you.
  • The ranking page: which URL of your site Google picked. If it is not the page you wrote for that search, two of your pages may be competing for it.
  • The top 10 of every search, with you and your competitors highlighted, so you can see who holds the first page and with which pages.
  • Who shares the first page with you: the sites that appear in the top 10 for several of your keywords, which are your real competitors in Google even when they are not the ones you had in mind.
  • Whether an AI Overview appears above the results, which pushes the first organic result further down the page.

Google rank checker or AI Overview checker?

This tool is about the classic organic results: where you rank, with which page and against whom. To find out whether Google’s AI answers cite you, use the AI Overview checker, which reads the AI Overview and the AI Mode answer for each keyword and lists the sources they cite. Ranking well and being cited by the AI are related but not the same: Google often cites pages that are not in its top 10.

How to read your rankings

  • Positions 1 to 3 are the ones most searchers click. If you are there, watch the sites right below you.
  • Positions 4 to 10 put you on the first page but below the fold on many screens. Compare your page with the ones above it: how well they answer the search, how complete and how recent they are.
  • Positions 11 to 20 are the second page. Few people get there, but these keywords are usually the quickest to move up, because Google already sees your page as relevant.
  • Not in the top 20: check that you have a page for that search, that Google can crawl and index it, and whether the top 10 is made of a type of page (guides, product pages, comparisons) that yours is not.

From a check to daily rank tracking

A check shows you one moment, and positions move every day. Mencoro’s rank tracking checks your keywords on Google every day in the country you choose, records your position and ranking URL, keeps 16 months of history and puts your competitors in the same table, from €15 a month. It also shows whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI cite you for the same searches. For what AI assistants say about your brand, try the AI visibility checker.

FAQ

Google rank checker: frequently asked questions

Enter your domain, up to five keywords and the country you want to check. The Google rank checker runs each keyword as a live Google search from that country and tells you your position in the top 20 organic results, the page of your site that ranks, and the ten sites on the first page. Add up to three competitors to see their positions next to yours.
Yes, with no sign-up and no email. Every keyword is a real Google search that we pay for, so each visitor can check up to 25 keywords a day: five checks of five keywords.
Google Search Console shows your average position across every search in which your site appeared over a period, mixing countries, devices, days and close variants of the query, and its data arrives a few days late. This checker reads one search, in one country, right now. Both numbers are correct; they answer different questions. Use Search Console for the trend of your own site and a rank check to see the actual results page and who is on it.
Google adapts results to your location, down to the city, and to your language, device and search history, even in an incognito window. The checker searches from the country you choose, in its main language, on desktop and without personalization. Results also change during the day, so a ranking that moves one or two places between two checks is normal.
The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Spain and Mexico, each in its main language. The check works at country level: it does not target a city or a postal code.
Only the regular organic results, numbered from the top of the page. Ads, the map pack and the AI Overview do not take a position, although the checker tells you when an AI Overview appears above the results. Any page of your domain counts, subdomains included, and when two of your pages rank, your position is the best of the two.
