Measure your AI presence with real metrics

Mencoro tracks your brand presence across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and Google SERP. For each channel, you get concrete metrics: Mention Rate (percentage of tracked queries where your brand appears), SERP Rate (percentage where you rank in organic results), and Positivity Index (a weighted score combining positive, neutral, and negative mentions). These metrics are aggregated at project, cluster, and individual query level so you can drill down from the big picture to specific queries.

Share of voice analysis vs competitors

See what percentage of AI mentions your brand captures compared to competitors across the same tracked queries. When your SoV drops, Mencoro highlights which query clusters lost ground so you can take targeted action. Segment by cluster to find your strongest and weakest competitive positions. Unlike tools that only count presence, Mencoro weights share of voice by mention quality: a direct recommendation carries more weight than a passing reference in a list.

Mention type classification across 5 categories

Not all mentions are equal. Mencoro classifies every brand mention into one of 5 types: Recommendation (the AI directly suggests your brand), Comparison (your brand compared against alternatives), Listing (included in a list of options), Illustration (used as an example), and Reference (cited as a source). This classification, combined with the Positivity Index (positive, neutral, negative sentiment per mention), tells you not just that you were mentioned, but how you were mentioned and whether the context helps or hurts your brand.

AI visibility vs organic visibility: key differences

Mencoro tracks two distinct dimensions. Organic visibility measures your SERP positions across Google, where you rank and how much potential traffic you capture. AI visibility measures how frequently and in what context your brand appears in AI-generated responses from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, and Google AI Mode. A brand can have high organic visibility but low AI presence, or vice versa. Understanding both dimensions is critical because users increasingly split their search behavior between traditional results and AI-generated answers.

How to improve your AI visibility

  1. Focus on recommendation mentions. Analyze which queries trigger recommendation-type mentions for competitors but not for you, and create content that positions your brand as the direct answer.
  2. Improve your Positivity Index. Review negative and neutral mentions to understand what context AI engines use when referencing your brand, then address those narratives through content and PR.
  3. Target low share-of-voice clusters. Identify query clusters where competitors dominate and build topical authority to claim your share.
  4. Reduce position volatility. High volatility means unstable mentions. Strengthen your brand signals with structured data, consistent publishing, and authoritative backlinks. See our AI search optimization guide for detailed strategies.
  5. Track mention types over time. A shift from recommendations to listings may signal declining brand authority in a topic area, even if total mention count stays the same.

Visibility tracking questions

Common questions about AI visibility metrics,
mention types, and sentiment analysis.

Mencoro tracks Mention Rate (how often your brand appears in AI responses for tracked queries), SERP Rate (how often you appear in organic results), Positivity Index (a weighted sentiment score), Share of Voice (your mention share vs competitors), average mention and link positions, and position volatility. All metrics are available at project, cluster, and individual query level.
Every brand mention is classified as: Recommendation (the AI directly suggests your brand as a solution), Comparison (your brand is compared against alternatives), Listing (included in a list of options), Illustration (used as an example to explain a concept), or Reference (cited as an information source). This classification helps you understand not just that you were mentioned, but in what context.
The Positivity Index is a weighted score from 0 to 100 based on sentiment analysis of each mention. Positive mentions score 100, neutral mentions score 50, and negative mentions score 0. The index is the weighted average across all mentions for a query, cluster, or project. A score of 75 means your mentions skew positive, while 50 means mostly neutral.
Share of voice measures the percentage of AI mentions your brand captures compared to tracked competitors across the same set of queries. If you have a 30% share of voice, your brand appears in 30% of the total mentions across all monitored competitors. You can segment SoV by query cluster to find your strongest and weakest competitive areas.
Position volatility measures how much your mention position and link position fluctuate over time for a given query or cluster. High volatility means the AI engine cites you inconsistently: sometimes first, sometimes fifth, sometimes not at all. Low volatility means your position is stable. This metric helps you identify which mentions are consolidated versus fragile.
Mencoro tracks brand mentions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and Google SERP. Each engine is tracked separately so you can see where your brand is strongest and where there are gaps. Mencoro also records which specific model version generated each response.
